Brett Favre

Brett Favre is pondering retirement. (Who doesn't know that already?) I like everyone else wants to know what he is going to do but the media is getting out of hand. I do understand that the earlier he announces, if he is going to retire, the better off the Packers will be. It would be nice to know going into the draft and also the rest of free agnecy but I also see it as not as important as the media and some fans are making it. The fact is on the roster there is two quarterbacks including Favre. That means either way his decision goes, they still need another quarterback. With Favre's age they need to be prepared for him to retire or god forbid Favre getting hurt and having to miss a game. The packers need to build a stronger team at every position other than quarterback if Favre comes back or not. Favre tried to carry the team solely on his shoulders last year after all the injuries which is something no matter how good a player is, just can't happen. On offense the packers need to build a strong running game to take the pressure off of Favre, Rodgers, or whoever is the man behind center. On defense, the packers need to be as dominate as they can. Favre is a "gunslinger" who is going to throw interceptions. If Favre does not come back, the quarterback is most likely to be young and will have growing pains. The defense will be relied on more to make big stops especially after a turnover. So to conclude this rambling just get off of Favre's back an dlet the man think. I am sure it is not an easy decision and it doesn't get any easier with everyone hounding him to decide.
